Engineering
Overview
The Engineering course is for anyone interested in learning about modern engineering technologies and their applications in the real world. This includes manufacturing, design, aerospace, fabrication, motor vehicle, electronics, mechanics, and communications.
This will also be an ideal course for you if you enjoy seeing and understanding how things around you work.
This course involves study at Bridgwater College (one morning a week). As a large part of the course take place in the workshop you will need a pair of safety boots & overalls. These will be provided for you when you start at the college. There are limited places available and students following the red pathway will be selected through an interview process following the school pathways interview.

What will I learn?
You will learn design skills and how to produce design & engineering drawings using computer software. Another part of the course will be based around the workshop where you will learn a range of workshop skills including electronics, maintenance and robotics. You will also look at important engineering events of the past as well as the future of engineering.
How will I be assessed?
A terminal written exam comprising of both long and short written answer questions.
Controlled assessments comprising of tasks set by the exam board, assessed internally and moderated by the exam board.
