Sport Report - U15s Cricket

Yesterday in ridiculously hot conditions the u15s took on Haygrove in what was essentially a winner takes all encounter.

Batting first Chilton made a steady start with B Date and K Dyer running well between the wickets. K Dyer hit a fluent 22 before chipping the ball straight to the only fielder in Close on the leg side that he could have put anywhere! Garner hit a brisk 14 which included some lovely fours as did Attwood who finished on 10 not out.

In reply Haygrove got off to a cautious start and then opened up somewhat. In the face of the onslaught A Lock was the pick of the bowlers with 1-12 from me and took a brilliantly nonchalant one handed catch off the bowling of skipper Rawles. Eventually though Haygrove knocked off the 85 required for the loss of 2 wickets with 3 overs to spare.

A good effort from the boys who kept going in difficult conditions and were a pleasure out there.
